Los Angeles has an incredibly deep design legacy. The Last House on Mulholland is not only rooted in that legacy, but will also build upon it.
Challenged by LA’s amazing catalogue of 20th century architecture, LHOM enters the discussion with 21st century considerations. Namely, the responsible integration of the themes of design, environment, community and intelligence. The Last House intends to enrich on all those levels.
For LHOM to be successful it will
— itself become part of the discussion of architecture and design.
— have a positive impact on the environment.
— preserve and enhance the special history of the local community.
— improve our understanding and knowledge of how we live and communicate.
